7. I live in Cantor's district

The area is gerrymandered to basically let Western Henrico county dominate. There is a population count there not able to support a Congressional district but it fans out northwest-ward to bring in the numbers. Notice that is stays south of Charlottesville - home of UVa and a bastion of liberals ..and thought.


The people of Western Henrico aren't necessarily Republican. In fact in 2008 we flipped Henrico 53 for Bush in 2004 to 56% for Obama in 2008. When I say "we flipped it" I mean that I personally had a hand in flipping it - 400+ doors knocked on, constructed the W.Henrico office, hosted launch parties the last two weekends. What is key in Henrico is that the eastern part is black middle class (Varina) who are not in Cantor's district - Bobby Scott.

Cantor is private school and William and Mary "educated". He was a top staffer for Bliley (see banking de-regulation) who was chosen and presented as acceptable. Tobacco approved so Eric got to be a Congressman. He has not earned any of it and is twisting in the wind with the TeaBaggers.

The closer he gets to Richmond the heavier his southern accent emerges.

He is a joke and a place holder.
