68. The Amygdala and Openness
Thu Nov 17, 2022, 07:08 AM
Nov 2022

The amygdala.is a small organ at the base of the brain that regulates rage and impulse control. In psychopathic individuals, it is usually enlarged and denser, and there are indications that age and genetics may both play a factor in this condition. This means if you are already predisposed to psychopathic tendencies when younger, these increase as you get older, but if you are not, then you are likely to be more thoughtful.

Other things can affect the amygdala: strokes, cancer, viral infections, alzheimers disease, others. This may accountvfor the seemingly balanced individual suddenly going ultraconservative.
