and with any luck, they did enough damage that he'll never be able to shoot a gun again. Honestly, I had a brief vision of him being wheeled into the ER with a size 14 spike heel sticking out of his forehead. Sounds like I wasn't far off.

No, I can conjure up much sympathy for the little wart, males who think they can solve all their problems by shooting other people have done too much to piss me off. I'm glad this one is facing consequences in the hospital instead of just legal consequences, I hope the prospect of surviving with multiple fractures and no teeth left will discourage other gun nuts who think drag queens are easy pickings. I can tell them from personal observation that they are not.

Kudos to the NYT for getting the pronouns right. There might be hope for them yet.
