A buzz started somewhere and increased till everyone knew. With many people crying, we were escorted back to class, TV's were rolled in and teachers started talking with us as the news developed that the President had, in fact, been assassinated after which we were dismissed early and sent home.

The next several days of TV coverage were devoted exclusively to the President, the succession process and the subsequent murder of Oswald, which was broadcast live as he was being moved in Dallas.

Some things are just not forgotten.
