(25,355 posts)brought out a point that the poster probably didn't even realize is more significant than he/she thought. It's the post about Jarvanka no longer advising Trump or else he would not do something so dumb as digital trading cards.
But it's not just Jarvanka. The Trump inner circle of "advisors" has dissolved due to the facts that: 1) He lost in 2020 and is no longer in the WH: and, 2) investigations and possible charges (for Trump and for them) make him too risky for them to stick with.
Trump never was anything more than a public image for people who wanted to advance policies and agendas that his persona could pull off publicly. He could draw voters and use his collection of dirt on Republican politicians to keep them in line while advancing the agenda of the far right. He is no longer any use to them. They are distanced from him now and are regrouping for another leader. So he has nobody to advise him and is just pushing idiotic gimmicks as he has always done.
It never was about Trump. It was always about RW extremism being delivered to the legislatures and courts via the Trump persona. Trump found the RW extremism appealing and compatible with his own personality and a winning ticket to power, fame, adoration, and money grifting. But he was always just a tool of the extremist right for their own agenda (and Putin's) and he never realized it.
Without them, he is nothing and has no advisors to prop him up or to discourage him from stupid moves like trading cards.
The most pathetic thing, IMO, is not that he is hawking digital trading cards, although that is pathetic enough. But more pathetic than that are the ludicrous images of himself on the cards, with a slim, trim, and fit, energetic body. It is an ultimate vanity that shows what a delusional fool he is.
