Along with Oral Roberts University, which rips off its students, there's a smaller Bible college named Rhema in the Broken Arrow suburb that a friend of mind described as, "Pissing everyone off for 11 months of the year and then making up for it in December with their Christmas lights display." She also told me that it seems like Rhema goes above and beyond in both impoverishing their student body while encouraging them to start ministries while still in college. That way, they're too broke to move after college and have deeper ties to their community in a religious sense. This is why, in a city already lousy with churches, new ones are going up all the time. You start out meeting in your living room, graduate to being a church in a strip mall, and then eventually have a "real" church - a steel building constructed with a rock facade. Doing this means having churches that will donate some of the offerings they get to Rhema as well as having a minister that will encourage kids to attend Rhema themselves to start the process anew.
