11. I was already stressed out and on edge

Because I was battling cancer.

I didn't get much sleep. Oncologist saw that I was stressed out, and asked if I would consider Paxil for my "off the charts" anxiety, or at least Ambien to get me to sleep better. I hate Ambien, and don't trust Paxil. So I toughed it out.

Took me until my radiation therapy was done and all cancer declared in remission to start sleeping like a human again. That was sometime in mid-2017.

I joked to my oncologist that it wasn't the relief of the cancer being done that had me sleep better, but sheer exhaustion forcing me to do it.

I had also adopted the philosophy that whatever the slimy scumbag might do was out of my hands. It's all on that...thing, you can't change it, so get some rest, at long last.
