Many hospitals here in N.E. Ohio don't have enough beds for any patients, mostly due to lack of sufficient staff. In a recent trip to the ER, a nurse told me that nurses are overworked and beds are scarce because so many nurses are quitting due to abusive patients and being overworked. I was informed that if I were to be admitted, my room would be the ER bay I was being treated in.

Was your friend vaccinated and boosted? In a high risk group? Severity of symptoms? these are determining factors now that health care providers have more information about the disease. Which may not have been the case when you contracted it.
