(60,981 posts)Had January 6 and the related actions such as denying a normal transition and the preposterous lawsuits not happened, I think she would have been seen as partisan, but nit a pariah. Look at the contrast with Griffin who resigned in early December.
Prior to Trump, the most disgraced President was Nixon. Consider the career of Diane Sawyer, who was in his administration and worked post presidency with him on his autobiography. In spite, or maybe helped by this prominence, she had a long, successful career. There was also Safire, who had a long term column in the NYT Even more prominent consider Henry Kissinger, who was very close to Nixon and then a power in several later administrations.
Not equating GWB and Trump, but many Bush people are not just successful, but many are on MSNBC. I suspect that had Trump accepted defeat, the normal process of rehabilitating any leader to better create our American mythology would have led to those credentials being at least not negative within 5 to 10 years.
