21. I had a few friends over and was on the phone with my fiancee....

....she was watching MSNBC and they were still doing the "horse race" thing and she was worried.

As we were talking she suddenly said the TV which she had on mute was showing a graphic saying Obama had won.

I said, "Really?" She said, "That's what it says."

One of my neighbors saw something on his laptop and said, "Wow!"

Everyone fell silent. My fiancee couldn't talk, she was crying on the other end of the phone.

I looked at the room and said, "Obama won."

There was a moment of stunned silence and then everyone cheered.

My neighbor's daughter who had just voted for the first time started to cry and fell into her mom's arms but mom was crying too. Still hugging, they both collapsed in an easy chair and held each other.

Keep in mind that my place is preparing for a move and I kept looking at boxes marked "fragile" with things like my crystal all packed as utter pandemonium broke out.

My neighbor took one look at his wife and daughter hugging and crying and said, "I believe I'll have that beer now if you don't mind."
