I'm sure I've got documents in my home office from every job I've worked unless it was strictly a 9-5, leave it in the office kind of job. Being Vice President is a 24/7 kind of job.

I suspect it is even harder to keep track of every document when you are the President or Vice President, and have lots of folks to haul stuff around for you - and the substance of your work is, Oh, I don't know, maybe helping run nearly all aspects of the entire country - and relationships with the rest of the world. Not like the work that came home was likely to be isolated, discrete tasks. Crap happens. Documents get misplaced.

Some were found - and given the politics of the situation - that started a search for any others which might have been misplaced and not returned at the end of his term. Unlike Trump, Biden is proactively working with the proper authorities to get everything back where it belongs.

Does it look good? No. But it is completely different from Trump - who actively took things (not during his term, but once his term was over), who is actively hiding things, insisting that they belong to him, etc.

Is Biden, or anyone near him, suggesting the documents were planted? Nope. He's an honorable man, owning up to mistakes, and trying to make sure everything
