My guess on Romney's strange concession delay [View all]

It struck me during the campaign just how transactional Romney and the Republican's worldview really is. The election boiled down to what tangible rewards voters were willing to pay for with their votes - either lower taxes or government handouts.

So, last night, Mitt and Ann, apparently quite confident that victory was immanent, secluded themselves with a few hundred of their most high-dollar supporters/investors at an invitation only formal affair. The guests undoubtedly were expecting their candidate to deliver an enormous return on investment. He let them down. It wasn't supposed to happen. This was a business deal gone terribly bad. And, an extremely embarrassing, deer-in-the-headlights moment for Mitt, who surely wanted to believe it was either a mistake or a very bad dream.
