In reply to the discussion: In late Oct. 2016, remember how the NYT reported that the FBI saw no link between Trump and Russia? [View all]Comey has since explained he was faced with picking one of two bad choices -- informing Congress, or keeping it quiet in case there was nothing new there. But that second option has to be seen with something "extra" -- he knew that if he didn't inform Congress, the nest was going to inform the media. Both of those options would inflict severe damage right before the election.
They played Comey, knowing that his strengths were also his weaknesses. This indicates that the nest isn't limited to regular investigators. Indeed, they set him up to where Tump would fire him in a humiliating manner .... surely a warning to others. And they have been involved in much more of the damaging of this country since then.
