What Sandy did to Romney, was to show the country that a state, any state, can not handle major crisis without federal help.
Most states have to balance bugets by law. The repugs like the states to control everything, education, health care, disaster relief,
infrastructure etc. They will cut your fed taxes, but your state and local taxes will skyrocket.
