39. Yep, one of the first direct "casulaties" of the Fat Man

A case I've always found not quite right and I have to say his and his "text mate" Lisa Page's stories are pretty strange to say the least and definitely spy novel worthy. Under the Obama administration he was chief of the FBI's counter espionage division which is basically the FBI version of the CIA that can investigate US citizens along with foreign nationals and led investigations that ended up cracking some pretty deep Russian espionage rings (Operation Ghost Stories amongst others) on US soil involving both Russian nationals (FSB and SVR agents) and US citizens.

He also played a major role (along with Page) into all of the Hillary e-mail BS and even though he "felt" there was no criminality involved he had some major sway with Comey and co-authored the letter to re-open the Clinton investigation right before the election which is very curious.

If you go back 10 years and follow the interactions of these 2 characters and play Ludlum's advocate if you will and throw in their previous interactions with McGonigal , it gets pretty strange. Just tossing that out there, it is a fascinating rabbit hole lol.

Great article by Sam Patten that brushes the surface here >

We had one man as head of the FBI who had dossiers and extorted every major player in the US political and economic power structure during the 20th century and I think people forget just how powerful, and corrupt, the FBI was and to a certain extent probably still is.

Maybe by being old enough to have been young enough (if that makes sense) to have been exposed to the myriad of conspiracies, some theories some not, from the heydays of Hoovers reign from the 50's to his death under Nixon (wink wink lol) I'm a bit marred. I think it's still going to be awhile before that agency completely wrings out that legacy. Just because the FBI is investigating my opponent doesn't make them any less suspicious than if they're investigating me. And I do believe since 9/11 there's been a more than "usual" purposeful influx of bad actors from our global enemies deep into our governmental and social infrastructure not seen since perhaps since the peak of the cold war in the 50's and 60's (sorry kids it wasn't the peak in the 80's lol) and it's extremely worrisome.

Thats my left wing "Q" conspiracy anyway and I'm sticking to it lol
