that was a lesson the RepuQ's learned and used to make things so bad now. That is why they control so many local and state positions - places that make the 'rules' regarding so much, including election laws.

As you are well aware - school boards matter! THEY are the ones that can make insane 'policies' that would limit or control the education that the students are getting. Should a majority of members be driven by a non-democratic, demented ideology and promote an undesirable educational program that runs contrary to most basic constitutional beliefs (say, separation between church and state!), and the local and state judicial branches (courts) are already staffed with like-thinking judges - we're on our way to our own "Ayatollahs" running our schools, towns, and states.

And that includes where the tax money goes. Allowing more and more 'entities' get their hands on the money that is meant for the 'local' schools means that our school districts will find more and more difficulty with funding the school programs. Unregulated 'cyber schools' and diverted funding to religious and private schools only means more and more problems for the local 'public' school districts having to work with less and less funding. It all becomes a demented variation of 'the inmates running they asylum!'

We need to be active - there's too much at stake.
