(151,563 posts)The original post simply referred to "God" as a given. That is what is offensive to many people. It implies that there is such an entity and that it acts as a real entity. It even asks dead people questions, apparently.
There's no hint in that post that not everyone believes such things. Nor is there any acknowledgement that there are many, many deities out there that someone believes exist, and even multiple deities that form the foundation of some religions. It is a distinctive monotheistic attitude that dismisses everyone who is not a monotheist of some sort or another.
So, some people expressed their dislike for the original post. Their disbelief is equal in value to the belief. At least it is in a just environment.
If someone says that "God" will do something, someone else will say, "There's no such thing." Every time. It's only fair, really.
