(89,930 posts)Good to have you with us! First of all, YES DEAR GOD THEY HAVE TO BE WEANED OFF OF POX NOISE!!!!!!
Sorry to shout, but that's the true tone of my feelings on this matter. Pox Noise is toxic to the American Way. Look what a mess they've made, building this fantasy world where wrongney was about to win in a landslide, and up is down and "right" is UTTERLY wrong!!! And the naive and deluded have been completely sold down the river, so it's no wonder that they're lurching around in blind confusion and grief.
But then I remember how bereft a lot of us were when John Kerry lost. There remains some very credible suspicion that the 2004 election was stolen as well as the 2000 election. So it was extra painful. Many Dems were openly depressed and despondent. And guess what the other side did: LAUGHED at us. Turned their noses up at us, pointed, scorned, and laughed. They scoffed at the very idea of empathy - thought it was a big joke and that people whose hearts were broken by that loss (knowing we were facing another four years of bush/cheney) were stupid chumps well worthy of derision. They were horrible. So now that they're writhing in pain, well, so be it, I guess.
I want to feel compassionate because I'm a Democrat and because I'm a liberal. But I've got a memory, also.
