Bill Maher goes full MAGA - says Dems party of slavery and he needs to be harder on left than right

15. Maher errs on several levels. The Brothers of Italy party has roots going back to Mussolini

via various manifestations of the ultra hard RW in Italian politics. Even MORE importantly, Brothers of Italy is STILL a fascist party at heart.

That is massively different from the historical changes within the US Democratic Party.

The US Democratic party has, over the past 60 years or so, did a 180 degree switch and is profoundly no longer anything like the Dem Party was going back to the Civil War (and the Civil war's run-up, plus the Dem party of the time after the Civil War up until it first started to change.)

It doesn't matter anymore what the Democratic Party did when it was the party of slavery, Jim Crow, etc etc, as it no longer has any of that left in it. Those fuckers are all in (or at least extremely sympathetic to) the Rethugs.

He also errs with his bullshit about the LW being more aggressive and violent and militant in the US than the RW is.

Maher is a fool and a gaslighter on both of those subjects.
