Those afflicted have a genuine addiction to the false universe and the fear it generates. I have seen the same thing with old racists anywhere I have worked in America. They keep looking for a fix that sustains the fear because they truly believe it is what matters. One more hit is all it takes to generate the chemical thrill that paranoia operates on. They can be as bad as anyone in withdrawal from Heroin.
The really sad thing is they are still dangerous to the real world without knowing it. That is why Rove/Rupert spend so much on propaganda machines like hate radio and Fox et al. Until we shut that machinery down the disease will continue to grow and infect and eat away at what we have momentarily won.
I live in North Carolina where the fascist money has overwhelmed truth. We came close to resisting it but in the end there were many more lies than truth repeated in the regional press.
We now have a mutton head Bush/Romney clone governor-elect and a rabidly Tea Party super majority legislature thanks to 2010 Rovian midterms that lead to radical redistricting. Wisconsin will seem like paradise once they are sworn in. They already legislated away Global Warming over the head of a progressive Democratic Governor. Similar fates await in other states where truth is no longer defined by reality. Regardless of the landslide the Tea Party will not simply wither away.
Unless Obama starts doing the justice he spoke about in 2004 and 2008 the disease will continue to threaten all of us. It is well past time for the man to step up to his words and do the job. As Dr. Cornel West said we need to push him in the direction he needs to go...great presidents are not elected, they are made.
