(21,086 posts)for African/Americans to so much as sit in a seat on a bus without being attacked. To sit on this stool but not stool was of paramount importance. To march in a city without being shot. Kids in school did dnot have black or white friends. They did not worship together, play sports together or even purchase goods in the same stores.
If Bobby Kennedy's death was the end of it all, then why are we now fighting to empower and African American President as opposed to one woman who wants to be seated on the front of a bus?
Friend, we have come a long way. Maybe not in your time or over your pet issue(s). But there can be no doubt that white or black, that progressive civil rights issues have maintained their growth inspite of everything the GOP throws at us.
