(3,014 posts)he became starter because Kyle Orton (while a nice guy) has zero balls. So he can throw the ball between the 20 yard lines. As the field gets shorter...he folds. On 4&9 with the game on the line, Orton will check down to his backs out of the backfield for 3 yards because "it's safe".
The team was 1-4. Quinn was in his last year of his contract and wasn't the future. It was glaringly obvious that Orton wasn't the future. That left one QB on the roster that the front office and coaches couldn't definitively say whether he was the future or not. They had to know because they needed to know what to pursue in the upcoming draft. They put him in at half of the Miami game and he nearly led a comeback. And then he led a boatload of comebacks.
I personally was on the Suck for Luck bandwagon.
And even though this was supposed to be a rebuilding year...Tebow came out and went 7-4 the rest of the season...and then won a playoff game.
A team that Elway stated was 3-4 years away from being decent...won a fucking playoff game with Tebow at the helm.
So at this point, and as Mr Elway stated today in his press conference...Tebow is the starter going into training camp next year. He EARNED that right. It wasn't given to him because he loves the invisible sky dude. He went out and busted some heads and played with ridiculous heart. He EARNED it. And don't you forget that.
You are merely predicting he fails because you don't like the fact that he's religious. Don't be the people we don't favor.
