(37,540 posts)Sorry, not impressed....and the Patriots are not exactly an awesome defensive team (#31 in the league rankings). Didn't Kyle Orton beat Tebow and the Broncs this year? I will say he threw better than I was led to believe, but he didn't run as well as I thought he could. My point still stands....without his Christian personna, he doesn't get the media hype. I saw a Youtube mash-up of ESPN mentioning his name 160 times in 1 hour! Gimme a break...do you think Cam Newton has gotten that kind of media attention?
Sure, Tebow deserves to be the starter going into next year's training camp...but he better learn some new tricks in the off-season because the NFL teams are going to be breaking down his game films. He's going to have to learn to read defenses better and find the open man. He looks absolutely nervous in the pocket and can't seem to keep himself still. Of course, that might be because I'm spoiled from watching Tom Brady play the position - but Brady was this good back when he first subbed for Bledsoe when he got injured 7(?) years ago. Brady came in and that was the end of drew in New England.
Tim has brought his Christian personna into the game. He's taken controversial positions on hot social issues. Focus on the Family ran ads during the last game - so I assume there must be a huge Christian, non-football watching audience that they are trying to reach. They used kids to sell Chriatian messaging....disgusting. He may be a hell of a nice guy, but if he were a devout Muslim, I don't think we'd be hearing much about Tim Tebow's future as an NFL QB.
Who knows? Maybe he'll become a RB/split end...he might actually end up doing better in that position. Hell, if the Patriots can run a TE out of the backfield, why not Timmy?
