and she backed out of the “questioning, “ which is her right.

Lots of senators do that, all kinds of politicians do it. One in particular is very repetitive about his favored mantras and he refuses to answer direct questions about current events unless it fits his wheelhouse. He’s in his 80’s, too, but I don’t see demands he hand over his senate seat.
