did their best to design a democratic system, but human depravity one-upped them in finding a way to exploit a crack in the system (read Electoral College).
I'm sure sociopaths and psychopaths existed back in the day, but their eventual influence wasn't anticipated.
I listened to a podcast with Tom Nichols as the guest and he thinks it's entirely possible that if trump isn't hamstrung with a conviction, he could become president again.
