When she was on a freelance assignment to South Texas.

This was when the Mexican government and Chiapas were at each other's throats. One of them started setting fire to various fields, primarily those of marijuana growers, and the smoke from that came up to where we were in Texas so strongly that it triggered a severe allergic outbreak for my husband. A local GP pumped him with the equivalent of 4 benadryl to calm down the symptoms long enough for him to get well enough to travel again. The smoke inhalation didn't do me many favors, either,. My throat hurt for over a month after we got home.

Stay safe, and keep the benadryl handy if you're prone to allergies at all.
