Paula Broadwell is a research associate at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership (see her credits at the bottom of the article here: http://ricks.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2011/01/13/travels_with_paula_i_a_time_to_build ) who is headed by Gergen.

Just one step away from Romney, she was.
