Consider the jurisdiction of the trial more than the state as a whole.

If there is a hung jury, then DOJ can retry him.

DOJ can also look at public records of the jury pool individuals, like voter registration and social media.

Then there are the people who voted for him but are disgusted with his behavior, especially on J6. They might prefer DeSantis and feel no qualms about convicting Trump.
