an authoritarian strongman smash opposition. Their current hero Putin is predicted by experts to prevail.

But if Putin were to lose to Prigozhin they'd have Prigozhin. If Putin were to put Prigozhin down but was taken out by angry oligarchs, they'd then have that replacement strongman.

They admire strong, ruthless winners, losers to the curb.
