(13,539 posts)their right-wing white evangelical white supremacist backers and rejecting their propaganda. It may take a few years for them to become the kind of constant voters we need, but they will get there as they see how their lives are being impacted by stupid decisions by right-wing politicians and courts. One encouraging sign is that younger people are leaving extremist religion behind. Voters are also seeing how nasty and hateful Republican legislatures are when put in control of womens lives and LGBTQ+ rights.
The job for Democratic leaders is to publicize this loss of rights and get young voters to the polls. The overturning of Roe, the obvious privileging of extremist religious beliefs, the end of affirmative action, and the saddling of young people with huge debt should be enough to get them to vote in the future.
