7. We moved to NORCAL

We are both in higher ed. EVERYTHING here is cheaper, except for gas, and some stuff is A LOT cheaper. We are both clearing 1-1.5k more every month, too, even with the dreaded CA taxes. Car insurance is 47% cheaper, and property insurance same. We are LGBT and in higher ed, and feel so much sdafer and more appreciated.

WNC is great! I lived near Boone for a few years. Boone and Durhan ftw.
