31. I lived in Boston for 3 years

It was in the 80s so maybe it's evolved but as a Nrw Yorker, i was shocked and appalled by how racist Boston was at the time. Everyone knew what part of town they could live in. Blacks in Dorchester and Roxbury, Italians in the North End, the Irish in Southie, Jewish people outside the city limits in Brookline and Newtown and the WASPS in the back bay.
It was one of the reasons I came back to NY after graduation- that and the number of Red Sox fans.
