I had no idea the estimates were so divergent. I have seen several studies reported in the 50% range, but the study you cited is very respectable.
There is obviously nothing wrong with condemning infidelity. My point was when you characterize half the population as having no character, you have to reexamine the question. You can say it's a flaw or a sin, but if it's that widespread it looks more like a matter of human nature.
