And hope against all hope that an R becomes President once again and pardons his ass. That is my best guess about his strategy at this point. There is no question he will never be acquitted. There may be hung juries; we'll have to wait and see on that, but no one could see all the evidence (of which we've heard only a fraction) and not know he is guilty.

With the sum total of all the cases against him, appeals could take a very long time, a decade, for instance. At that point, he'd be nearly 90 years old. They probably figure he can run out of the clock, or better bet, someone will pardon him.

I'm not sure what happens at the state level though. He's sure to be convicted in Georgia, at least in my opinion.
