Chuck Todd calling the race a "Special Counsel Election" [View all]

...with no one even suggesting there's any real consequence to Pres. Biden from an SC probe surrounding his voluntary return of inadvertently-retained government docs.

But, of course, what Todd is really referring to is the Hunter Biden Special Counsel probe, which has nothing to do with Joe Biden at all.

CHUCK TODD:

This Sunday, the special counsel election. It's not just Donald Trump's campaign that may go through a courtroom. Attorney General Merrick Garland appoints a special counsel to investigate President Biden's son.

...then this ridiculousness, hyping a Pence candidacy without any mention of his culpability or responsibility in Trump's abuses, and a pretense that Pres. Biden is 'challenged' by a SC appointment he has nothing to do with.

Todd:

"How much will Vice President Pence make January 6th central to his campaign against his former running mate? I’ll ask him this morning. Plus, challenging Biden. The new special counsel appointed fuels more criticism from Republicans."

As hard as they might, MSM will try and equalize Trump's breathtaking criminal liability with the president, but comparisons of the two is journalistic deceit. This effort by Chuck Todd to muddle the political waters reflects a media too lazy to fully report on the criminality right in front of them, and hoping desperately they won't be forced to just declare the entire republican party a criminal coddling disgrace.

Why is it so hard for Todd to acknowledge that the President isn't on trial, and that Trump and his republican enablers are the ones in the dock right now?

What he can't credibly sell is the notion that a 5-year investigation of a private citizen, one where the prosecutor already had authority to prosecute anywhere in the nation where criminality was found, is suddenly some threat to an uninvolved president because of an administrative change in status.
