academic writing as this woman's resume would suggest she has done, she should have been able to put a few sentences together, and that, apparently, was not the case.

Why didn't the publisher just give her an EDITOR, if her writing was a bit pedantic or stultifying?

You give a co-writer (bullshit***ghostwriter****bullshit) to someone who dropped out of the fourth grade; who speaks English as a second language, who isn't familiar with the whole process of preparing written material, or who is just not capable of preparing such an opus. Someone who simply writes a bit ponderously, or poorly, gets an editor, or, at worst case, a "with"--as in The Dog Peed on My Homework, by Johnny Indeclassroom, "with" Fred Kaddiddlehopper.

Here's why I think she had a ghostwriter--she either cannot write for shit, or she knew that actually doing any WORK on this book would take her away from time spent with 'the principle' (as one calls the senior fart who is the focus of one's attention in that rarified environment).

This whole thing just stinks. "All IN" indeed.
