Well known and respected restaurant owner in Marion applied for a liquor license, (you can not obtain a liquor license
in KS if you've ever had a DUI). Someone at the paper believed she had a DUI and confirmed those suspicions
through State of KS websites, instead of publishing their findings in their paper they went to the police with their
information so law enforcement could quietly deal with the liquor license application without drawing unnecessary
attention to a respected community leader.
Paper never published their findings, cops approved of her getting a liquor license plus they informed the restaurant
owner of the paper's inquires. That's when she yelled off with their heads, don't they know who the Queen is
in this town?
I see a large lawsuit working in the paper's favor.
