Just one example: Following the 9/11 attacks, Giuliani’s term in office was coming to an end as he was term-limited. But because he saw himself as a hero he tried to get the law changed so he could have a third (illegal) term. Thankfully, NYC would have none of it and he was gone in January 2002.

Giuliani fancied himself as the only person who could do the job. Mike Bloomberg proved him wrong.
