are delivered with the charisma and talent so missing in DeSantis. The usual demagogic appeal to people who yearn for a leader to follow, and his product is developed for what studies say the subsets he's chosen want in a leader.

He's also competing with the likes of Kennedy Jr and Cornell West for those on both right and left who share a peculiar certainty that Democrats are behind most of what's wrong with our country, and the rest of the planet.
