I always do a quick check against previous grades for each student to get a handle on who is going up v. Who is going down. A 38 for a B student on two prior exams would have caught my attention - if not when I was entering grades, at least when the student asked to see me, or when I pulled up the grades to review. I'm handling slightly fewer exams (ballpark of 225 - 250), many of whom I had for both their first law school, as well as their last. Definitely quite the load.
