19. RW pundits are a double-edged sword. Big support. From a few people.

Limbaugh, Beck, et al are great at ginning up resentment in a certain segment of the population. Unfortunately, it's a segment that would vote Republican anyway, and the nasty-fest requires alienating pretty much everyone else.

And the election just demonstrated that the Really Angry Nutty Rightwinger Base isn't enough to carry national elections on its own.

Republicans are starting to figure this out, complaining about the "Conservative Entertainment Complex."

But that doesn't mean they can do anything about it.

Can't say I'm super sympathetic. They wanted to fight on the basis of tribalism and distrust and painting the other side as illegitimate. Now they know they can't reliably win on that basis.

Very sad, really. (insert jovial emoticon here).
