8. They called today

I was in the habit of letting the phone ring, election season and all. But I saw the caller ID say, "Defeat Obama." Damn, that was quick. I answered, thinking I would make the caller wish he had taken the day off.

Robocall, of course. The script was the same as the one above. It sounded desperate, strident, and almost laughably inflammatory. They're cashing in on people's fears, like so many of the right-wing organizations. It's what they do. They're first cousins to tele-evangelists.
