But if you really believe he did that "to avoid complicity in a 'major act of war'," then I have to question how closely you've really been paying attention to him.

Musk has consistently demonstrated what kind of person he is for a while now. Sure, he's odd, but that's because he's an egotistical, narcissistic, overly privileged billionaire who has never had to do an honest day's work in his ridiculously privileged life. He does whatever he wants, based on what he thinks will be personally beneficial to him. An altruistic motivation such as avoiding compliciy in an act of war would be completely alien to him, because altruism is not part of his makeup.
