19. What is the issue here?

Sep 2023

In 2022, 2 million migrants crossed the border.

1.2 into Texas
500K into Arizona
140K into New Mexico
250K into California

2023 will see as many OR MORE.

Democrats need to stop talking out of both sides of our mouths on this issue. Either we support migrants and want the border to remain open as it is now or we support policy change. If our democratic values say that we want to support these people who are fleeing political violence in the countries they are coming from, ALL STATES must be prepared to receive the 2 MILLION MIGRANTS that come across the border EVERY YEAR.

It is not the job of the four southern border states to deal with this simply because they are next to the border. Democrats need to shut up with this snotty NIMBYism and saying the bussing is the problem. If we are CHOOSING to let these people into the country, then that's it! We now have made the decision to let them in! We now have to support them! And by "support them" this doesn't mean hide them in Texas where the problem is invisible to some ultra progressive voter living in a coastal state who thinks it's great to say "I support migrants as long as I never have to look at one." If our democratic values mean that we are letting these people in, every single state will have to take migrants. And MORE migrants. Every week. Every month. Or we adjust how many people we let in. That is the other option. But we can't talk both sides of our mouths. I am no Greg Abbott fan, but in this case, he is not completely wrong.
