11. Boxer is not a threat to primary Dems plus she has experience.

Schumer is going to have to shuffle some committee seats around, because as was pointed out, no matter what her emeritus status was, she's been away from the Senate for a significant time and will be considered a junior Senator.

But it all depends on whether or not she's willing to take a year out of her retirement to step in.
