(744 posts)It's not 2020. It's 2023 and it's clear Americans aren't favoring Biden like they were three years ago. He is not getting the credit for what he's doing and I don't expect that to change with Israel.
I don't think that means he loses in 2024 - in fact, I think he wins. But anyone expecting the country to rally behind Biden like it has past presidents, well that's just wishful thinking.
Americans didn't line up in support of Biden with Ukraine, despite most agreeing with the general approach. But when it was specifically asked about the job Biden was doing? His numbers didn't match the action.
I think it'll be the same with Israel. I don't think they'll give him credit for stepping up. I don't think they'll rally around him. I don't think they'll be grateful - at least in large numbers.
But we'll see. I hope you're right and he gets a much needed approval bump out of this.
