34. Reportedly, Harlan Crow and his billionaire buddies are funding Phillip's vanity project

As for Steve Schmidt? He's not only supporting Phillip's, he's running his campaign and has promised to hammer Joe Biden with everything they've got (or can make up). Schmidt has gone from an eloquent speaker in defense of democracy to running a Democratic primary challenger to a sitting president who is standing in the way of a twice impeached con-artist, a man who has already told the world what he intends to do in the Oval Office the second time around. Dean Phillip's won't win the primary but he and his monied supporters with Schmidt's help can certainly bloody and bruise Biden. Which is the point.

Think back to Kennedy challenging Carter. Or Poppy Bush challenged by Buchanan, and then finished off by Ross Perot in 1992. Or Gerald Ford in the 1976 campaign challenged by Saint Ronnie. Ford managed to win the primary despite the lingering Nixon stink but was ultimately defeated by Jimmy Carter in the General. Ronnie certainly didn't help Ford's cause.

The RFK, Jr. gambit backfired on Republicans when surveys showed Kennedy hurting Trump more than Biden. This is just another Republican attempt to shave the numbers.

Shame on Steve Schmidt. Harlan Crow must have offered a very sweet deal. But then, he and his billionaire friends bought off SCOTUS. A former political operative was probably easy pickings.
