I don't think he'd lose any credibility. Anyone who matters understands he's done the best job in this situation anyone could have. AND we keep his experience and knowledge right there in the White House.

In fact, I bet tRUMP would start calling him the Shadow President, like Darth Cheney was for Bush.

VP is NOT an assistant. It's second in line, expected to step into those shoes if needed.

I think it's brash enough to upset the entire discussion and break up the side runners.
