The real reason, I always thought, is it is the first day of the Siege of Stalingrad the rest of y'all call the holiday season. Retailers appreciate the business, but the line workers do not appreciate getting screamed at as much as they do on BF. And it's usually because you ran out of whatever doorbuster the customer wanted.
