Holiday shopping done! [View all]

I have never shopped on Black Friday. I will never shop on Black Friday. I would rather jab a sharp stick into my eye than deal with that. As atheists, we honor all religious holidays and will put up lights on the house to help bring some illumination to the darkest of winter days.

I gave Mrs. Scrutinizer a $100 donation to the Red Cross for Sandy relief and she gave me the same thing. Our extended family draws names and you give one gift ($25 limit) to one person. I will give a selection of home canned jam, some beets and carrots from the garden, some home-cured and canned sauerkraut, and some home grown flint corn, ground for corn meal or polenta. On my wish list, I requested a donation in my name to the Heifer Project or a similar organization.

Done! Now to relax!
